Proximity to the Bicentennial Greenway:
The Bicentennial Greenway is a multiple-use trail. The Bicentennial Greenway is open daily from sunrise to sunset. This Green way, is a collaborative effort between Guilford County and the City of Greensboro. It is Approximately eight miles long. Approximately seven miles of the Bicentennial Trail are completed in the High Point area . Only 3.5 more miles of trail need to be completed before the two trail segments converge, providing an almost 20 mile green-way that connects the City of High Point to the City of Greensboro.
This trail is a great way to get outside and exercise. One can enjoy the spring flowers and also experience beautiful walks viewing the fall leaves. Even if your neighborhood is walk-able, you may still have to drive to your place of work. Some neighborhoods are located where many can get to work in just a few minutes, while others are located such that most residents have a long and arduous commute. I am sure that we have all heard about the loop coming soon in this area. This will provide easier access through town and less time driving on narrow crowded roads. The four-mile project running from Bryan Boulevard to Battleground Avenue is a critical part of the 40-mile loop designed to improve traffic flow around the Gate City while also providing a more direct route for Rockingham County residents to the PTI airport.
